Upcoming Tesla requirements

Tesla is introducing mandatory features for all third-party apps as they continue to enhance technology and security measures.

To ensure Tessie remains fully functional, you must enable the following features by January 27, 2025:

1. Location Permissions

Click here and add the Vehicle Location permission. Select Update.

2. Encryption

Not currently required for pre-2021 Model S/X or Tesla Business accounts

In the Tessie app, visit Settings > Connectivity > Manage Encryption to enable encryption.

3. Telemetry

Not currently required for pre-2021 Model S/X or Tesla Business accounts

In the Tessie app, visit Settings > Connectivity > Manage Telemetry to enable telemetry.
